Low Carb Healthy Protein Packed Breakfast

I know it may be hard to believe that I practice many healthy eating habits based on all of my food adventures. About 80% of the time I’m actually eating a high protein and low carb diet. I haven’t been in the gym as much as I would like recently because I’m learning to balance my new work schedule along with the girls schedule.

It’s had me so busy lately, and I’m working on a a routine with it, but I still try to practice good eating habits because maintaining healthy weight is key with your diet.

Start Off Your Day Strong

I really love starting off my morning with a protein filled breakfast because it keeps me full, but it gives me the quality of fibers, minerals, vitamins, and all other nutritional benefits to kick off my day. It’s not just about eating “cute”, but more so of understanding your body and what it needs to be healthy.

Great For Weight Loss

This is also a good habit of eating if you are looking for meals for weight loss. Being 100% keto was something I couldn’t fully commit to. I’m gonna want some ice cream, and I’m not depriving myself of my neeif that’s what I want!

I learned that a good 80% keto “like” diet would be beneficial for my eating and maintaining a healthy weight. The key is eating high-quality fats, meats and dairy if I consume any.

Breakfast Breakdown:

Smoothie Bowl Base

This smoothie bowl consisted of bananas and coconut cream (made from frozen coconut milk). Heavy on the bananas! I knew a lot of peanut butter and granola was involved, so I wanted to make sure I played around with the flavors to make everything tasty. Banana’s are rich in protein, fiber, potassium, vitamin B6 and vitamin C. Paired with the coconut cream (milk) that’s great for your skin and hair, but also great for your immunity, heart and digestive health.

One of the best things about this smoothie base is that you’re not loading up with a bunch of carbs and bloating up your body. Although carbs are tasty, it breaks down as sugars, the bad sugars in your body.

Fruit has healthy sugars and is a much healthier option.

The Toppings

Here’s where I like to have a little fun with my smoothie bowls! The toppings allows me to customize not only how fun and colorful can I make this smoothie bowl, but also based on what I really want to give my body.

Peanut Butter & Cinnamon Honey Drizzle:

Peanut Butter is such a great source of protein and fiber which helps with weight loss. It’s also a great source of healthy fats. The honey has a great source of anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. Not to mention playing a huge part on your digestive health. Cinnamon is great for brain, skin, and digestive health. Also great for your blood sugar! I think most of all its super flavorful.

Strawberries and Blueberries:

These are key berries and are great antioxidants and packed with vitamins and minerals. The fibers in these berries help with weight loss, helps improve blood sugar, and is great for your gut health.

Granola:

Granola helps provide Prebiotics which are plant-based fibers that feed the good bacteria in your gut. It’s also a great source of energy, protein, antioxidants and fiber.

If the peanut butter and cinnamon honey is too much for you, feel free to substitute with just regular honey.

Bring on the Protein!

So I’m actually in a place where I am slowly removing pork completely out of my diet as a whole. The only times I have had pork is mostly for breakfast with some breakfast bacon and/or sausage. I mean, its bacon! You can sub this out with any meat of your choice, but they key thing is to add a high quality protein to this meal. Protein is key fuel and I know my body and blood type requires meat from proteins.

Sub it out with whatever meat you prefer.

Organic Pasture Raised Eggs

You are going to get the most and best benefits from a pasture-raised egg than a traditonal egg. Pasture-raised eggs are considered to be more nutritious than conventional eggs, containing significantly higher levels of vitamins A and E, more omega-3 fatty acids, and a lower ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fats.

This breakfast combo right here is truly for champions! Give it a try and see how this low carb healthy breakfast kicks off your day!
