Fall Home Decor Ideas on a Budget

So most of you who already know me know that I am obsessed with home decor, even more so during the fall and the holidays.  I mean I go all out with the decor, but I always do it on a budget.  I cannot stand over priced home good items that I can either create and make myself or purchase at a cheaper value and majority of my decor comes from either the dollar tree, thrift stores, and diy projects.  Occasionally I invest in quality pieces from a craft or home good store to be the main attraction and then everything else is just add on cheap items go flow along with it. All I need is $50 and my hot glue gun and my house is ready for the harvest season!

For example, this center piece reef was $29.99 at Jo Ann Fabrics.  Yeah I could have made it myself, but it would have cost possibly the same amount to create and buy the items for it than to just purchase as is and use it every year above my fireplace on the mantle.  That centerpiece was the most expensive item and everything else literally came from the Dollar Tree for just $1 each. My harvest reef is the main attraction, but I used all $1 items to enhance and add on to the look without breaking the bank on some home decor that is only seasonal.  And just for a personal touch with the candles, I am literally obsessed with marshmallow fireside 3-wick candle from Bath and Body Works! It's the perfect fall scent to give the house a nice warm and cozy feel and smell.

Here is my desk table in my living room that is simplistic but still keeps that cozy fall and harvest vibe without having to over do the decor.  It even shocks myself to say 'this, but everything you see in this picture is either from the thrift store or dollar tree...and yes I mean EVERYTHING you see, the desk table included! If you're anything like me then you're frugal and constantly on a budget of some sort because adulting is hard. Here's a breakdown to just to sum up some much of a bargain and diy gal I am and how you can be too.

Baskets and decor/blankets in it:

Goodwill and Dollar Tree. Little items like these such as baskets and throw blankets are sooooo expensive and I literally use the baskets for decor or extra blankets when we have company over. Why pay $30-40 when I can find a gently used throw/blanket at the thrift store for $4-5, wash it up good and use it for whenever I need?

Scarecrows and Harvest Sign:

Goodwill. Typically when retail store don't sell out of their seasonal items that don't sell, they will donate it their local Goodwill.

Three -tier Stand:

A diy project from the Dollar Tree and Dollar store ya'll! I've looked high and dry for an affordable 3 tier stand and I couldn't find one so I gave up and just went to the dollar stores and purchased two cake pans, a pizza pan, a flower vase and my handy glue gun and got to work! I used my sandpaper to dust off the glossy look on the pans and add more grit to give a more "rustic look" and added some black spray paint and boom I had my stand. Is it the most sturdy? It's sturdy enough and leveled out to stand on its own. Is it a great cheap way that turned out great for accent decor? Heck yeah!

Desk table:

$25 from the Goodwill that was a diy project I did from about a little over a year ago year ago.  This was an older table that was a gem I found that was in great condition just old and needed some cosmetic fix up love.  I sanded all of the old wood off and spray painted to a cherry oak wood look and now it's my little table that gets all of the decor love.

Long story short, you have to go to these places on a day when you have spare time to just go and look for items to add on to your seasonal decor collection. Never buy all of your items at one time unless you got it like that and being on a budget isn't an issue.  Every year I collect my decor and just continue to buy and add more pieces to switch it up or to enhance.  Oh yeah if I forgot to mention the cute apple and pumpkin pieces, they are all from the dollar tree too.

I never want to over do my dining room table with the decor because it's something we constantly use and I don't feel like moving decor and putting it back all the time so I kept it simple.  I purchased empty mason jars and some ribbon and fall leaves from the Dollar Tree, grabbed my good old faithful handy glue gun and got to work.  I also filled it with this hay stuff (I forget what it's exactly called) from the dollar tree to fill and added acorns on top. The cool thing with this crafty idea is that you can custom create your own decor to your liking so it fits your home just the way you desire.  It adds just the right amount of harvest vibes and brings out your creativity if you enjoy crafts and diy projects.
