Top 10 Cheap Eats in San Diego Under $10!

$10 and Under San Diego Eats

I recently went on a budget trip to San Diego and ended up finding some pretty good eats that were super tasty and beyond affordable. This city literally just became not only one of my favorite places not only for the views, but certainly because it was some really bomb ass food joints all over!

Here is a list of my most recommended places to try out if you plan on visiting the city some time soon.

  1. IN N OUT BURGER

I mean when in Cali, one must indulge in some In N Out Burger. The burgers are ALL individually $4 and under and the combo’s are no more than $7.50. We ended up eating here twice because it’s just that good! This is a franchise so there are locations everywhere in the entire city.

2. Square Bar Cafe

When you want to go somewhere to get a quick fix on your sweet tooth, then the Square Bar Cafe is going to be your go to. This cafe serves everything from coffee, drinks, tea, food, and my favorite some ICE CREAM! Did I mention that it’s all $6 and under? I totally recommend getting the cookie monster flavored ice cream!

They have 2 locations in the San Diego area:

4488 Convoy St #H San Diego, CA 92111

AND 8155 Mira Mesa Blvd #4 San Diego, CA 92126

3. Lucha Libre Taco Shop

We didn’t get to taste the highly rated tacos from this dynamite foodie joint, but we did bless our souls by trying the Baja Cali Dog + TJ Corn for under $6. Let’s just say it may have a low price but this food had BIG TASTE! Did I mention that inside of the place is totally cool and super instagramable! There are 3 locations but I totally recommend the North Park location.

4. NOMAD Donuts

This donut shop is just walking distance from Lucha Libre in North Park and let’s just say that these donuts are soooooooo good and flaky! I’m still pissed at myself for not going back and getting a second vanilla donut.

5. Tijuana Seafood Bar Mariscos La Cacho

Closer to the border in Chula Vista you’ll find this amazing Mexican Restaurant which is home to the FRESHLY COOKED+MADE TO ORDER .99 Fish Taco. We couldn’t get enough of these! They were so delicious and very large sized fillets for the price that we visited to place just about every day for our entire trip.

6. Lighthouse Ice Cream

Right in the heart of Ocean Beach is this tiny shop that was filled the air of freshly made waffles. My husband and me literally spent about 3-5 minutes of standing in the doorway whiffing the delicious scent of waffles that you create ice cream sandwiches with. I was actually told about this place from my cousin, and lucky me it just so happened to be in the same area we already planned on visiting. After 5 minutes and sniffing we finally made up our minds to get the sandwich. Not only did they make regular waffles, they made blueberry waffles as well which makes sense of the scent in the air. I just so happened to come on the day they were sold out of regular waffles and only had the blueberry to serve. God is so good ya’ll because I am obsessed with blueberry waffles and He knows my heeeeaaarrttttt!!!!! All for under $5.

Just a heads up, if I am not mistaken this is a cash only place.

Home of some boooommmbbb Mexican/Latin American food, you can never go wrong with a carne asada taco for $1.80. It’s a highly seasoned spicy beef that is a burst full of flavor in your mouth.

La Jolla is an area is San Diego that you must visit for the views and the food. We found this place and for $3.99 this street corn blessed my tummy. I added a baja taco (that was amazing!) with it for a total of an $8 meal.
