My 10 Spring to Summer Beauty Favorites for 2021

We all know that transition period from winter to spring can be pretty brutal on the skin. One day it’s warm and lovely outside, and the next it’s cold rainy and just gross. All the while your beauty regimen is constantly changing and it’s seems like you just can’t keep up with it all.

Say no more my loves. Your girl is here for you to help you keep it all together from the rootie to the tootie with some essentials to grab for the Spring/Summer season.

Here are 10 of some of my must have’s for the Spring and Summer season for 2021, some links are affiliated.

  1. Fenty Beauty Body Sauce Body Luminizing Tint $48

IMG_4094.jpeg

I don’t know about any of you out there, but even as a woman of color during the colder months, I get pretty fair. Especially being back home in the Midwest where days are 75% gloomy and frigid cold temperatures at times.
This body tint I must say is I life saver for me! I usually get a spray tan to keep my skin looking yummy and bronzed and oh-so-healthy with my melanin poppin. However this luminizing body tint saves my coins on the annual trip on my spray tan. It’s evening out my body’s complexion, while looking like I was just laying on the beach somewhere soaking up some sun rays.

It comes in 7 shades (I’m currently wearing 03 Agave Spice for medium-deep skin tones.) and is a blurring, lightweight and subtle body tint with subtle to buildable coverage. It provides a silky texture that’s sweat and transfer resistant.

A quick tip, please please please allow it to FULLY dry before applying any items of clothing. Trust me, I learned the hard way lol.

2. Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter $44

IMG_4095.jpeg

I fell in love with this product back in 2019 and I must say it hasn’t left my beauty routine since. I just love the entire concept of the product. People mistake it for a foundation, but it’s actually a complexion booster. It blurs, smooths and illuminates the skin to give a real-life filter effect.

After applying the your facial coverage of choice (if any) you apply this product to all of the areas on the face you enhance and highlight. This literally makes my skin look like it just had a whole gallon of water and my soul in glowing from the inside out. Even if you have extremely dry skin, apply this product and I promise you will get that dewy glow instantly!

This comes in 7 shades (I range between a 6 and 6.5)

3. Fenty Skin Fat Water Pore-Refining Toner Serum $28

IMG_4096.jpeg

I started using this toner-serum combo from Fenty Skin back in December and it has been prepping my skin to be its best self. I have even tried to switch it with with some of my other toners, but for some reason I keep coming back to this Fat Water.
It’s literally a dynamic duo with a toner and serum combo that targets your pores, improves the appearance of dark spots while evening out the complexion. Oh yeah, did I mention it balances the oils on your face so have no worries with this product stripping your skin.
The smell of the Barbados Cherry also gets me every time! It’s such a sweet a delicious smell.

4. Dior Airflash Spray Foundation $62

Wearing makeup sometimes can feel like a whole job itself these days. As a mother of a toddler my time is very limited, so finding makeup that works for me is a bonus for me. This Dior foundation is nothing new, simply a beauty cult classic, but it still hold major relevance for me.

It’s a buildable to full coverage foundation that instantly gives you flawless airbrushed skin. It’s very lightweight and waterproof with 12 hour long wear. No matter how many of the many foundations I have in my collection, this has been the one my hands grab when I’m trying to go from Baby Yoda to Beyoncé in under 10 minutes.

It’s a radiant finish foundation with 20+ shades (I matched to 400N) that can be found at Sephora.

5. Glow Recipe Watermelon Pink Juice Oil-Free Moisturizer $39

IMG_4098.jpeg

This watermelon skincare line from Glow Recipe is something that I have been wanted to get my hands on for some time. Oil Free anything usually isn’t my go-to for skincare because of my combo dry skin, but I thought, ehhhh why not?

It helps brings radiance to the skin while helping evening out and brightening the skin complexion. Surprisingly it fit quite well with my regimen. The moisturizer gave a nice good plump to my skin, and I would use my face oil on top giving my skin the perfect moisture balance for my type.

6. Native Lavender Rose Deodorant $11.99

IMG_4099.jpeg

Since 2016 I have went back and forth with finding some of the best aluminum free deodorants there are on the market. Some are highly effective and work great, others not so much. However, Native has become one of those brands that made it in my Top 3 of the category.

It’s made with natural ingredients, some of the main being shea butter, coconut and lavender. It’s highly effective with long lasting results. Did I mention that it’s aluminum, parabens and sulfate free? Yeah, it’s made with all the good stuff for our bodies. One of the best parts is that they come in many scents and are for men and women!
I had my husband switch over and he enjoys it for himself so much that he is almost running out and is reminding me to get more before the deodorant is fully gone. For those of you who live with your hubby’s you know for them to actually remember to remind you of something is pretty big, so let’s just say Native Deodorant is a pretty big deal in the Barker house lol.

7. The Honey Pot Original Formula Feminine Wash $8.99

IMG_4100.jpeg

This s**t right heeerrreeee in my Kevin Hart voice is literally life changing. I grew up a Summer’s Eve girl because, well that’s all we really had. We didn’t have options of anything else, and lacked education with what we were putting on our bodies with such harsh and damaging chemicals. I would often times feel so dry down there after using even the sensitive wash.
Little did I know that their feminine wash was stripping all of the love below and messing up my PH. I would be fresh, but just didn’t feel so comfortable down there, ya know? My skin would feel tight and dry at times and I was just over it and needed to switch.

This feminine wash from Honey Pot from the first use was instantly life changing. I felt super fresh and clean after washing, but it was like everything felt loved and balanced as well. Call me extra, but I felt what I felt. My skin didn’t feel tight or stripped! Not only did this keep me fresh all day, but I felt it too!! This was life changing for me.
So if during the Spring/Summer months you are looking to boost your freshness and feel refreshed with your lovely lady parts, then go ahead and clear that whole shelf at Target and Walmart neeeooowwww!!!!

8. The Honey Pot Lavender Panty Spray $7.99

IMG_4101.jpeg

This is one of those products that should be in every woman’s purse as a go-to refresher. Of course most of us are familiar with the Summers Eve Freshening Spray, but The Honey Pot came through with the simplistic and natural ingredients for us! The amazing thing about this spray is that it’s not just a panty spray, it’s great for underarms and feet.

I love this because it’s keeps you fresh and helps control any odor of you do happen to sweat, because…well we all sweat! When I am out and about I love having this spray combined with their feminine wipes in my bag to go while out and about.

9. Curls Creme Brûlée Whipped Curl Cream $9

IMG_4102.jpeg

As most of you know, I rock very short hair these days, but it doesn’t stop me from it needing it. I not only use this for my little fade, but I love using this on my daughters hair as well. It works great in both of our heads but also smells just delicious.

10. Design Essential Compositions Foaming Wrapping Lotion $13.99

IMG_4103.jpeg

As I just previously mentioned I have a blonde fade, and to keep it managed a must have is my foaming wrap for my hair. I love a wrap that molds and holds and this is just the one. This is actually a classic product that I’ve loved since I was back in cosmetology school, and it literally never fails me.

A lot of times I have to use gel to give my hair an extra hold or a few tiny curls would pop out. Not with this foaming wrap. After a good leave in this is all you need to mold and hold.

Are any of these products your must have essentials during the Spring and Summer?

Xoxo,

Britt
