My 16 Month Old Toddler Schedule

Getting your baby into a routine can truly be a headache at times, but I can promise you it’s all worth it. Since my daughter was born, it’s been so important for me to keep her on a schedule. I learned even she enjoyed some type of routine because her body understood the rhythm of it all. It wasn’t until around 5-7 months that a curveball in our lives hit us that threw EVERYTHING off.

Our last month living in Maryland we stayed in a hotel (during COVD-19) because there was a fluid leak in our living room that our landlord could not find the source to. This resulted in the entire living room being gutted and walls completely open and exposed, which was not suited for an infant living there. We had to stay in an extended stay hotel where she co-slept with us. We then made the choice to move back home to Ohio to be closer to friends and family.

It was a total mental mess for me because I was still nursing, we had to get rid of a lot of furniture that was damaged from the leak, and since my husband had to get straight to work, it took time getting the baby’s room up and going. I was so exhausted and had to co-sleep with my baby and I just felt like I literally had no mental break, EVER! That period in my life of new motherhood was so exhausting and since then I have promised that I will stay stern to not falling out of a routine for my mental sake, and for the baby.

Now that my daughter is a toddler and is more active, it makes it a lot easier to keep her in a routine.

The Routine Breakdown

  • 7-8am-Wake Up

  • 8-9am- Breakfast and Cartoons

Of course as she gets older this routine may move around a bit, but for the most part this is it. Keeping this routine with her really helps with me and making sure I can manage my time in between her naps and playtime. I really hope this schedule can help you and give you an idea to how to keep your toddler in a routine.

Xoxo,

Britt
