Deseo Modern Mexican- Toledo, OH

I’m very particular when it comes to Mexican food. I love authentic, Mexican food, and nothing that has been too Americanized. I had a friend tell me about this newer, authentic Mexican restaurant that was in West Toledo and the Cricket West Plaza near the University of Toledo.

I have been holding off visiting for some time, but she mentioned that they had one of the best Mexican brunches ever! My girl had me at brunch! So we were in the area for homecoming for the university of Toledo and decided to stop in and get some brunch.

We walked in the decor and ambience was an entire vibe. It’s on the corner on the far end of the cricket West Plaza on the other side of Sip coffee.

Brunch is from Saturday-Sunday from 11-3pm

THE FRENCH TOAST

Topped with: strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, honey, chocolate cream, caramel cream, whipped cream, & sprinkles.

After checking out the drink menu for some fun mimosas and a Mojito, we had to check out this French toast. I heard it was very popular and I am a French toast, lover, so I had to get my hands on it.

STEAK AND EGGS

Grilled skirt steak, chimichurri, & papas bravas.

This has to be some of the BEST steak and eggs I’ve ever had in my life! I typically don’t like over easy eggs, but with this meal I made an exception. The combination of flavors was out of this world! It’s usually the texture of it that I don’t like, but with the steak and the papas bravas it was perfect.
